Discover Saltie Girl

Saltie Girl, located at 279 Dartmouth St, Boston, MA 02116, is a seafood haven that has earned its place as a must-visit spot for locals and tourists alike. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and fresh, innovative take on seafood, this restaurant provides a unique dining experience in the heart of Boston. Whether you're in the mood for a quick bite or a full-on seafood feast, Saltie Girl never disappoints.

Upon entering the restaurant, you're immediately greeted with a lively and contemporary ambiance, making it the perfect setting for a casual outing or even a celebratory meal. The exposed brick walls and cozy decor add a touch of charm, while the bustling energy creates an inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.

What sets Saltie Girl apart from other seafood spots in the city is its carefully curated menu that offers something for everyone. The raw bar is a highlight, offering an array of fresh oysters, clams, and other shellfish, all sourced from the best local waters. For those who love a bit of variety, there are plenty of dishes that go beyond the typical seafood fare. The lobster rolls are a crowd favorite, served in a buttery, toasted bun with generous portions of succulent lobster meat. For a unique twist, try the lobster grilled cheese, which combines the comfort of a grilled cheese sandwich with the luxurious richness of lobster.

The menu at Saltie Girl is full of creative dishes that combine traditional flavors with modern twists. The fried clam strips are crispy and seasoned to perfection, while the seared tuna tacos provide a fresh and zesty bite. Those looking for a hearty meal should definitely check out the clam chowder, which is rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. For a lighter option, the seared scallops served with a refreshing citrus salad make for an excellent choice.

One of the restaurant's most innovative dishes is the "Saltie Girl" bowl, a fusion of raw fish, avocado, and a tangy dressing, served over a bed of rice. This dish perfectly captures the essence of the restaurant-simple, fresh ingredients elevated with bold flavors. In addition to the seafood options, Saltie Girl also offers a solid selection of non-seafood dishes, like their Brussels sprouts and kale salad, which is equally satisfying for vegetarians or anyone looking for a lighter side.

Saltie Girl is also known for its impressive cocktail menu, offering creative drinks that complement the fresh seafood perfectly. The "Saltie Margarita" is a fan favorite, featuring a refreshing combination of tequila, lime, and a splash of saltwater. For something a bit more adventurous, try the "Sea Breeze," a cocktail that blends gin, cucumber, and mint-light and perfect for a summer evening. The drink menu is just as carefully crafted as the food, with options that range from classic cocktails to more modern concoctions.

In terms of location, Saltie Girl is ideally situated in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood, making it an accessible destination for both locals and visitors. The restaurant's proximity to popular spots like Newbury Street and the Boston Common means it's the perfect stop after a day of shopping or sightseeing. • Saltie Girl was highly recommended when I was researching “best warm lobster roll” in Boston! It definitely lived up to the hype. We came in for lunch (after being denied the day before because we didn’t have a reso - recommend making one online!). We started with the cinnamon bun appetizer. It was great!! Then, my boyfriend got the warm lobster roll and he loved it. It was beautifully plated too! I got the fish and chips - so tasty. Very crunchy on the outside, but tender fish inside! The atmosphere was very cool, but the tables were so close together. The couple next to us started to strike up conversation because we were basically sitting at the same table… But everything else was great! We’ll be back!

  • The next time you’re in the mood for a classy brunch in Boston, get yourself a table at Saltie Girl and you won’t regret it. We managed to trim our list down of dishes we ordered from half of the menu to just a few. First: you absolutely must get the caviar on latkes. I will be thinking about this dish for the rest of my life, it’s that good. The clam chowder is another; in an area where there’s tons of great clam chowder, trust me that you still should get this one. We told them we were splitting it and they were kind enough to separate it in the kitchen so we each had our own dish- SO NICE!! The lobster roll was solid, but I would recommend getting something else as a main just because there are so many good lobster rolls in New England and this one, while good, isn’t a must. However, if you get it you will not be disappointed! Loved the Bloody Mary as well. The atmosphere here is light and breezy and we enjoyed watching people walk by on the street from our table. Highly recommend this place to everyone!

  • We made a reservation at Salty Girl after seeing so many people on TikTok recommending it....we were NOT disappointed! The restaurant looks gorgeous and the atmosphere was great. We got great service from the girls at the front and the waitress at our table. We ordered the lobster roll and the truffle fries. Both were fantastic. The bread was warm and soft, the lobster was tasty and the truffle fries were excellent. We then shared the chocolate chip cookie with a little vanilla ice cream. The cookie was tasty and the ice cream was too. I would definitely add this to my list of must-do things in Boston.

  • We had a great time in Saltie Girl. The shrimp cocktail is AMAZING. Highly recommend it. I had the smoked salmon bagel which was nice but I expected more from the bagel itself. My sister had the lobster roll which she enjoyed. We had a reservation and still had to wait about 20 min to get seated. Also getting the waiters attention to order food was a challenge but then everything went smoothly.

  • Saltie Girl completely lived up to the hype. The lobster roll was buttery and perfectly balanced; One of the best I’ve ever had. The oysters were incredibly fresh and paired with great sauces. The atmosphere is lively but intimate, making it a perfect spot for seafood lovers. Service was attentive, and everything came out at the perfect pace. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Boston. Definitely worth the stop!

  • This is THE dining experience! True, authentic, and full of great food. The place looks amazing so chic. Even the front desk ladies look like super models. The staff are so welcome and nice, the food tastes like heaven. They could squeeze us in on the weekend and we are so grateful. The caviar dessert is so creative. Their cocktails are good and served creative as well. This is THE place and worth the hype.

  • Saltie girl was packed when we went, but we had a reservation so we didn’t have to wait. We were seated inside—patio seating didn’t seem to be available for reservations. The atmosphere was lively, though a little too crowded to have an easy conversation. The food, however, was really good and beautifully presented! The oysters were fresh and delicious, and we ordered a variety of cocktails to sample—honeydew, passion fruit, and grapefruit—all of which were excellent. The highlight was definitely the lobster rolls, which were perfectly prepared. Overall, a really good experience with great food and drinks.

  • This place is amazing! Great lychee martini & mojito. Oysters were amazing we had number 1&2 on the list - they serve it with lemons vinegar, hot and cocktail sauce! Also New England lobster roll with truffle fries was amazing warm especially with it being cold in this season. Can’t wait to be back!
